Now the goal of [our] charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith,
from which certain ones, having missed the mark, turned aside to empty talk,
wanting to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor [that] about which they confidently assert.
Now we know that the law [is] good, if one uses it lawfully,
knowing this, that law is not laid for a righteous one, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for slayers of man,
for the sexually immoral, homosexuals, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and if anything other is opposed to being sound in the teaching,
according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, with which I was entrusted.
formerly being a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and insolent; but I was shown mercy, because, being ignorant, I did [it] in unbelief.
Trustworthy [is] the word, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.
Now to the King of the ages, the immortal, invisible, the only God, [be] honor and glory to the ages of the ages! Amen.
I commit to you this charge, Timothy [my] child, according to the prophecies upon you going before, so that by them you may wage the good warfare,
having faith and a good conscience, which some having thrust away, made a shipwreck concerning the faith,
of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I handed over to Satan so that they should be disciplined not to blaspheme.
I exhort, therefore, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] thanksgivings to be made for all men,
for kings and all those being in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
This [is] good and acceptable before God our Savior,
who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
For [there is] one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
the One having given Himself [as] a ransom for all, the testimony in their own proper times,
Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.
Likewise also women [are] to adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and sound-mindedness, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing,
Therefore it is necessary for the overseer to be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober, sound-minded, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
not a novice, lest, having been puffed up, he might fall into the judgment of the devil.
And these also, let them be tested first; then let them serve, being blameless.
I write these things to you, hoping to come to you in quickness,
but if I should delay, so that you may know how it is necessary to conduct oneself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and base of the truth.
And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness: [He] who appeared in flesh, was justified in the Spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.
But the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons,
forbidding to marry, [requiring] to abstain from foods that God created for reception with thanksgiving by the faithful and [by] [those] knowing the truth.
For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing [is] to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving,
for it is sanctified by the word of God and intercession.
For bodily exercise is to a little profit, but godliness is profitable for everything, having the promise of the present life and of the one about to be.
For unto this we toil and strive, because we have hoped on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.
Let no one despise your youth, but be a pattern for the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Until I come, give heed to the reading, to exhortation, to teaching.
Do not be negligent of the gift in you, which was given to you through prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the elderhood.
Give heed to yourself and to the teaching. Continue in them; for doing this, you will save both yourself and those hearing you.
Do not rebuke an older [man], but exhort [him] as a father; younger [men] as brothers;
older [women] as mothers; younger [women] as sisters, in all purity.
But if anyone does not provide for [his] own, and especially [his] household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

I earnestly testify before God and Christ Jesus and the chosen angels that you should keep these things without prejudice, doing nothing according to partiality.
Lay hands on no one quickly, nor share in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.
No longer drink water, but use a little wine, because of the stomach and your frequent ailments.
As many as are under a yoke [as] slaves, let them esteem [their] own masters worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be blasphemed.
If anyone teaches another doctrine and does not draw near, being sound in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching according to godliness,
he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but diseased about controversies and fights about words, out of which come envy, strife, slander, evil suspicions,
[and] constant arguing of men thoroughly corrupted in mind and deprived of the truth, supposing godliness to be a means of gain.
But godliness with contentment is a means of great gain.
For we brought nothing into the world, because neither are we able to bring out anything.
But having sustenance and coverings, with these we will be content.
But those wishing to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is a root of all evils, which some, stretching after, were led astray away from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
I charge you before God, the One giving life to all things, and Christ Jesus, the One having testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate,
[for] you to keep the commandment, without stain, above reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which He will show in [His] own times, the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of those being kings and the Lord of those being lords,
the One alone having immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no one of men has seen nor is able to see, to whom [be] honor and eternal dominion! Amen.
Charge the rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to have hoped on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, the One richly providing us all things for enjoyment;
to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous in distributing, ready to share,
