1 Chronicles

And Saul said to the bearer of his armor, “Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised men come and abuse me.” And the bearer of his armor was not willing, for he was exceedingly afraid. And Saul took a sword and fell on it.

And Saul died for his unfaithfulness that he trespassed against YHWH, against the word of YHWH, because he did not keep [it], and also because he consulted a medium to inquire.

[He] inquired not of YHWH. And He killed him and turned over the kingdom to David son of Jesse.

and He said to them, “You⁺ [are] heads of the fathers of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, you⁺ and your⁺ brothers, that you⁺ may bring up the ark of YHWH, God of Israel, to [where] I have prepared for it.

And because at the first [it was] not you⁺ not, YHWH our God broke out against us because we did not seek Him according to the ordinance.”

And the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of YHWH, God of Israel;

For all the gods of the peoples [are] nothing, and YHWH made the heavens.

And Satan stood up against Israel and incited David to number Israel.

And David said to Joab and to the heads of the people, “Go, number Israel from Beersheba and as far as Dan and bring [it] to me, that I may know their number.”

And Joab answered, “May YHWH add to His people as they [are] a hundred times. Are [they] not, my lord O king, all of them for my lord as servants? Why does my lord require this? Why should he be a cause of guilt in Israel?”

And the word of the king was strengthened against Joab, and Joab went out and went throughout all Israel, and he came to Jerusalem.

And as for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind, for YHWH searches all hearts, and He understands all the intent of thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.

And David blessed YHWH before all the assembly, and David said, “Blessed are You, O YHWH, God of Israel, our Father, from forever and even to forever.

To You, O YHWH, [is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty, because of everything in the heavens and on earth. To You, O YHWH, [is] the kingdom, and You are exalted over all as head.

And the riches and the honor [are] from before You, and You reign over all, and in Your hand [is] power and might, and in Your hand [is] to exalt and to give strength to all.

And now, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name.

O YHWH, God of Abraham, [and] Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You.
